We are pleased to inform you that the Victorian Scheme Employer Freeze has been lifted, effective from 01 October 2024. This means that Victorian Employers will once again have the ability to select their preferred Claims Managing Agent, a freedom that has been temporarily suspended since April 2024.

WorkSafe have outlined the following guidelines that will apply for any transfer requests:

  1. Where an employer has multiple WorkCover policies, the following points refer to the aggregate of claims for that employer group*
  2. Where an employer of 10 or more open claims where weekly payments are being made, has lodged a transfer request to the losing Agent, the losing Agent is to refer that transfer request to the Director APRD, WorkSafe for approval.
  3. Where employers have 10 or more open claims where weekly payments are being made, the transfer date must not be less than 60 days from the request date without agreement between the Agents and approval from WorkSafe.
  4. Where employers have 10 or more open claims where weekly payments are being made, a transition plan is required to be completed by the gaining and losing Agent and the employer. In accordance with Schedule E of the Agency Agreement, this transition plan will detail all considerations the gaining Agent has in place to ensure a successful transfer from one Agent to the other.
